Thanks so much for your honest reviews! I have always doubted the same that V8 has pretty much the same meat as V6 regardless all that marketing hypes and some trivial modifications and a whooping doubling price tag. I have had my V6 (motorhead) for more than 2 years. It's a great vacuum. And that experience is enough to tell-tail the bogus V8 marketing claims from Dyson.
but your carpet is clean
very informative and objective. thanks!!
actually from the fully dischage V6 motorhead i charge time to actually 3 hours no minutes
How many years (or recharge cycles) can the battery last?
Is it worth spending the extra 100$ for the absolute? The animal seems to do fine on floors. Did you notice a bid difference between using the 2 heads?
Great review and straight to the point… hate reviews that take forever to get their point across.
I love the V6, for everything, although my house cleaner doesn't (grumble, grumble) every time she goes to use it. She thinks she needs the longer time??? that I don't understand, for being handicapped in a small way, I can whip through here in less time than she can (she is younger, and a baseball player). I got more cleaning tips from the videos than I got from the manual, learned more cleaning skills to work on my unit, but for the life of me, I can't understand how the wand was broken at the end where it is attached to the motor. It took a hell of a hit to break it the way it was. Ii told her not to worry about the cleaning of the unit, I would do that. I was always taught, since a young girl, to use care, when cleaning/working with my equipment. Guess she will have to bring her bring her big, ball Dyson unit with her next week, as she swears by it. The one thing, I couldn't find on my V6 is the high and low button for the speed???
Hi VacuumAdvisor, I am looking to give a cordless vacuum as a gift and would like one that has substantial battery time and similar to the dyson in terms of functionality. Can you suggest some good substitutes? Thank you in advance!
Will the head for hard floors scratch my new, expensive oak floors?
My DC59 has only 2 screws holding the battery in. I removed these screws and the battery slides out like it should be swappable. I replaced the one screw with one with a head that can be loosened by hand to swap my battery with a charged one. I purchased a second battery on Amazon. Does the V8 have these 2 screws that hold the battery in? Or did they make it harder to swap the batteries now?
