First, Thank You to the subscriber who commented that we should try the new CRAFTSMAN V20 Cordless Stick Vacuum. While I do not like to clean, this vacuum does make the job a bit more enjoyable.
A few videos back, we went over the Milwaukee M18 Stick Vacuum https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLTKeXcybwU that was optimized for the job site. That vacuum had a HEPA filter and 35 cfm of suction. That Milwaukee was not packed with features one would want for home, but it worked well on the job site. It could have used a bit more power.
Enter the new CRAFTSMAN V20 Cordless Stick Vacuum and we find ourselves with so many features and options that really help this vacuum work well at home and pretty darn good on the job site. The 3-speed vacuum with a stitch to turn on and off the carpet beaters make this an easy to use vacuum that gets the job done. We tested it at home and on the job site and both places were cleaned well and without issue.
I would say this vacuum is more optimized for home use with all of the features and the filtration system. For Jobsite use, it is missing a hose so it could be used in remote areas or be connected to a tool. If you do not need the hose attachment, this is the vacuum for you.
The CRAFTSMAN V20 Cordless Stick Vacuum comes with a 2.0Ah battery that will run this vac on low for about an hour. Runtime on Max will be around 18 minutes and High will come in around 25 minutes. Craftsman does offer larger batteries at Lowes.
This is a Stanley Black & Decker product and it will not use Sears purchased Craftsman batteries.

Heard nothing but good about the vacuum so I'm picking one up tomorrow, on sale for $149 at Lowes plus come with a extra battery.
@workshopaddict: Does the beater brush have plastic to plastic bearings or are there actual ball bearings at each end of the brush? The biggest issue with stick vacuums is the beater brush seizing up due to plastic on plastic fusion.
attachments for cars??
Great review. I love this as a home vacuum. Only problem is the canister lid is on the bottom and the hinge keeping it closed is cheap. It's very easy to accidentally bump it with your hand and dump everything onto the ground while it's attached.
Can you do a review of the hart v20 brushless cordless vacuum?
Also is this craftsman the same as the black and decker one?
This was such an informative and helpful video. Thank you so much, I’m so excited to buy it 🙂
What is everyone talking about maby mine was faulty but mine doesn't pick up for shit not even dust.
I just got mine straight up beast picks up dog hair great it’s gonna get a working! (We have a Husky!)
I've been using this vacuum around the house for about a month now and absolutely love it. The 2.0Ah battery doesn't last very long though. Lowe's was running a sale recently and I got a 2-pack of 4.0Ah batteries for $69. The 4.0Ah battery makes this vacuum come alive and it lasts forever. The extra weight is barely noticeable. As a bonus, the vacuum will still stand up on its own even with the 4.0Ah battery. The little paper filter is a bit of a pain to clean when it gets all clogged up. Even rinsing with water doesn't get it totally clean and it takes forever to dry. I sent to Craftsman and got (4) spare filters as I suspect I'll need to change them out at some point. New filters only cost $4.39 each.
THANK YOU. Third channel and most comprehensive. I emptied the dust bin many times and have difficulty getting it back on. I will watch that part again. Any further tips on that would be appreciated. I had to learn not to pick it up from the canister or it comes off–my fault.
Hi. Does it come with the wheels? And do you know if they’re normally already attched? Mine seems to be missing them and they’re nowhere in the box
Too bad it didn't come with a hose
How long does it run
Imma bout to go to Loews.
bought it at lowes today, got a free extra battery. love that you can change the battery.
Is the Craftsman vac better than the Ryobi?
I have one of these and so far it does a great job. It is very versatile and powerful.
Lowe's currently has a killer deal on this vacuum (May 2021). The price has been reduced to $149 and you get a FREE 2nd 2Ah battery. They also had a $5 instant discount coupon for any purchase over $50. At this price I just HAD to pull the trigger as I've been looking for a decent cordless stick vacuum for months.
Excellent video. Just purchased this for home use.
Great review…thank you! At 4:25, you note a concern of mine with filtration. So do you know of a model with similar features (esp changing brush mode) that has a HEPA filter? Thank you for any help you might offer!
In my opinion, this vacuum needs some additional engineering and remedy the supply chain issue for replacement parts. I have not seen any replacement filters at Loses or online. The marketing on the box recommended a new filter every 6-9 months. The 2 a/h battery gives me repeatable 10 minutes of strong suction and the power and suction fades rapidly after the 1st battery light disappears. The most I got out of the 2 a/h battery was 15 minutes on full power. I placed a 4a/h battery on the vacuum and the weight shift was drastic. The vacuum is top heavy and your wrist bears the weight of the unit because the battery is high up on the handle. It feels like there is no weight at the base and your wrist not only has the mechanics of the push pull motion but it also has to support the weight of the battery. A better design would have been to balance the weight or lower the battery toward the base. I find this vacuum very portable but it is very uncomfortable to use over time. It won't replace my Dyson. It is useful for small jobs but I wouldn't buy this over a well designed house vacuum or a shop vac. This vacuum is for people who are already invested in the Craftsman V20 line and want to add another component to their collection. I would rate this vacuum a 3 out of 5 due to the ergonomic flaws and scarcity of replacement filters. Stay clear of this vacuum unless you are someone like me that already has several batteries. I also paid $140 for the vacuum. I would not pay the $199 list price as there are better option available within that price range. I am a big fan of Stanley Black & Decker Craftsman but this is a slight miss for the brand. That's my opinion based on 5 months of ownership and use. Not to mention the frustration of finding a replacement filter. I found this review informative but I feel it may have been more open box excitement which is understandable. I felt the same way.
Thanks for the Video I need a new vac and I want a stick and this one looks good
This was an excellent review.
