We review the Shark Vertex Cordless IZ462H. Tests are performed on carpet, hard floors, and hair. Comparisons are made to a host of other cordless vacuums. See the Vertex Cordless at Shark: https://sharkclean.sjv.io/7mebAA or on Amazon: https://amzn.to/38juOpy

In this review we discuss the different models of the Shark Vertex Cordless vacuum cleaner and we walk through everything you get with your Shark Vertex model IZ462H – the one with the swappable battery.
We show the three tools and discuss each one: crevice tool, pet multi-tool and anti-allergen brush. We like that the tools click securely into place and will not fall off.
We show how the swappable (easily removable) battery works and how it can be charged both on and off the vacuum. In addition, we show the 3 charging lights on the side of the battery and discuss how they are useful. We also walk through all the vacuum controls, from carpet mode to bare floor mode, and the two power settings: standard and boost.
We performed run time tests in stick vacuum mode and we show two tables. The first table provides the manufacturers run times and the second table shows our tested run times. We walk through all the figures. We also highlight that you can always buy a second battery and double your run times (if you have the Vertex with the swappable battery). However it is lamentable that even if you buy the Vertex with the swappable battery you will only be provided one. If you want a second battery you will have to buy it.
The cleaner head on this unit has 2 brushrolls. One is soft and the other has fins and bristles. The soft brushroll can be removed completely for easy cleaning and a panel underneath the cleaner head can be removed to help clean the other brushroll and to deal with any potential clog.
We show 9 cordless vacuums and discuss the Vertex cordless weight as compared to these other machines. The Vertex was the heaviest of the bunch. However, despite the weight of the overall vacuum the handheld unit is a reasonable weight and is easy to wield.
The vacuum will not stand on its own but it can be leaned against a wall for storage purposes. However the MultiFLEX wand will double over 180 degrees which provides a configuration that allows the vacuum to stand on its own. In addition, the MultiFLEX wand, when bent 90 degrees, allows you to get under low furniture without having to stoop too much. We show all of these configurations.
Movement is reasonable. Not stellar but not too bad. It moves better on hard flooring than it does on carpet. The two brushrolls do pull the vacuum forward a bit which also results in a little more work on the pullback. But overall its not a big issue.
The dust canister is a bit on the small side and if you are doing large area cleaning you may find that you have to empty it often. It’s fine for smaller area cleaning though.
The unit has 3 filters – 2 pre-motor filter and 1 post-motor filter. The post-motor filter is a HEPA filter. The unit also has a sealed system.
We performed a noise level test on the Vertex cordless and several other cordless vacuums. We show and discuss the noise level tests in a table. We also highlight the difference in noise level on the carpet and the bare floor.
We then undertook a host of cleaning tests. We created and placed debris on our low pile carpet and our tile floor and found that the Vertex did a great job. We compared pickup to our Dyson V10 Absolute.
The unit also performed well in our large debris test on carpet. In addition, we compared hair tangle on the Vertex brushroll to that of the Dyson V7. The Vertex brushroll is designed to limit hair tangle and it works. It isn’t perfect but it does move most of the hair to the dust canister.
In a final test we ran the Vertex along our baseboards to see how close to an edge it would pickup. In this test the unit did not perform particularly well. It left about an inch long strip of unvacuumed area along the baseboards.
At the end of the video we provide a quick summary of what we have covered.

I just bought a Shark powered/corded NZ801 and noticed there was some plastic, bit disappointing tbh, there is enough rubbish in the world to last forever already, we need to push manufacturers to go full zero plastic in the future.
Not only a good review, but additionally great ASMR 💤
Great and concise review. Thank you
Great review, very thorough and no wasted time. Thanks for making and sharing…. A+++++
Where can I buy your cleaners and what is the price
Just got this. It’s amazing. The LEDs work kind of like the laser on the v15 and man oh man my floors were dusty. But this picked everything up. Everything. Thanks for the great reviews!

Great review! Very through and informative. Thanks for sharing…. good job!
As a stay at home dad and a stay at home husband, the duties of keeping our home clean falls to me every single day. After about six years of heavy use, our shark ion rocket finally gave out on us. After looking around for a couple days, I saw this gem of a vacuum cleaner and I went ahead and made the purchase. After two days I can honestly say that this is the best vacuum I have ever used. I love the fact that it has a true HEPA filter, I love the suction power, I love not having to unwrap hair from the roller (having 2 females, 3 cats and 1 golden retriever who all shed like crazy). I love every single thing about this vacuum and it is completely worth every single penny. Also wanted to say that your review helped me seal the deal. I just can’t figure out how to remove the battery just yet.
I just bought this. You did an amazing demo!!!!!
Did you test this vacuum on hard floor at base boards? If so, how well did it perform on hard floor vs. carpet? Considering purchase, will decide based on how effective on hard floor at baseboards. Thank you!! Really appreciate your thorough reviews, purchased corded vacuum based on your review and very satisfied, would now like to try cordless.
Very good review.

Thank you so much. I think this is the one for me. I can stop researching and get some sleep!
Thank you to you and Vacuum Wars for your excellent coverage of this vacuum. I'd been struggling with long hair tangle with my previous vacuum and from your reviews, I decided on a Vertex Cordless. It checks all the boxes and (in my experience) never tangles, even where my old Dyson would bog down. 24m24s is an all-too-familiar sight to see for me
I like the section about cleaning the brush rolls, cordless comparison, and the call out for having no plastic in the packaging.
Great review. Thanks!
I purchased this model and will be returning it today. It was too heavy for me and felt unbalanced because of where the battery is placed (the battery ads a good amount of weight). I am over age 58 so not sure if this is a factor. I have a Shark Rocket and love that vacuuming. I will keep looking for one that will meet my needs. Build quality was excellent.
Dynamite review!
man, just let me know what is the best one to buy!!!! put in your titles buy this one!
Is the top part the motor? I have the Iz44oh & have only had it for about 6mnths. The other day it starter making a loud noise & when u hold ur hand over the suction part it gets even that much louder & hot. So I'm wondering if it's the motor?? I've been searching the interwebs high & low & can not find any info, tips, NOTHING! I purchased it at Walmart with a 3yr warranty that Walmart provides. I don't kno what to do🤯!! HELP PLZZZ, ANYONE😟
Thanks in advance! Nice video
I have purchased it based on your review , I owned the older model ionflex and this is unfortunately does not come near it, head sucks , you have to push and pull on carpet , older model used to move by itself, I miss that
Hi, I wonder if you had reviewed the Miele cordless?!
Shark sent me one of these today after I complained about problems I was having with my ION FLEX DUO. While it was in the mail I managed to solve my problem. Now I have two nice cordless vacuums. Nevertheless I’m still considering the Dyson V15
