The video first discusses the three groups of Shark Rocket Cordless vacuums. Namely, the Shark Rockets, the Shark Rocket Pros, and the Shark Rocket Pet Pros. We have a Shark Rocket Pro – model IZ140C which comes with a 2 tools, a charger, filters, a quick start guide and an owner’s manual.

We like that the Rocket is both a stick vacuum and a handheld vacuum. By simply removing the wand you get a handheld vacuum. Tools fit on both the end of the handheld or on the end of the wand – if want extra reach. In addition, the tools snap securely into place and can only be removed by depressing a button. They are not compression fit and as a result do not suffer from such issues as falling off while you are vacuuming, or becoming stuck such that they are difficult to detach.

The tools provided with the vacuum are also fairly robust. They do not feel flimsy in any way. The crevice tool is quite long and the upholstery tool head swivels.

The Rocket Pro cordless is a slim machine. This is nice as it makes it fairly easy to store (doesn’t take up much room). In addition, the cleaner head is low and therefore capable of getting under low furniture. The unit is lightweight at about 7.3 lbs and the cleaner head swivels quite easily by twisting your wrist and arm. We find it easy to move and to steer.

There are three filters on the vacuum and they are easy to access and to maintain. To access the filters you need to remove the dust canister and there is a canister release button on the side of the handheld unit. There are 2 pre-motor filters – 1 felt and 1 foam. Both can be rinsed in water. There is also a post motor filter (it is not a HEPA filter in our model). The post motor filter can also be rinsed in water and reused.

We find emptying the dust canister quite easy, despite having to remove the wand in order to open the dust canister door (which some folks don’t like).

We show the brushroll of the NV682 which is traditional – a couple of rows of bristles. Alongside this we show the Shark Rocket Pro brushroll which has no bristles at all but rather fins. We discuss how different this approach is.

We undertake cleaning tests on low pile carpet and bare flooring (tile). We test the Shark Rocket Pro cordless against the Shark IONFlex (IF252) and the Dyson V8 Absolute. Percentage pickup is calculated, shown on a white board, and discussed.

A cleaning test using short white pet hair and long black human hair is also done using the Shark Rocket Pro and the Dyson V7. You can see the hair pickup and also the resulting hair wrap on the brushrolls. The Shark Rocket Pro has Zero-M technology which is designed to limit hair wrap on the brushroll. In the video you can clearly see that this technology works.

I would like to point out that I make every effort to be unbiased in my videos. If there is something about a product I do not like – I will let you know!

Grzegorz Kopiniak says:

Overall 5 stars as it's exactly what we wanted,🧼 allabout.wiki/Shark-Ultra in terms of cleaning power. Suction is as good as all the reviews state. When we first got it, I first vacuumed with the existing vacuum and then with this, the additional fine dirt that was in the Shark Rocket was gross and convinced me we needed this. We have medium length carpet and a terrier – no issues, I do imagine plush carpets would not work well with this. Also a little too powerful for most bathroom rugs. Great for area rugs. One con is the hose, it's great for reaching far away places (ceiling), but is frustrating and hard to use if you're within arm's distance (think couch and floorboards). This is due to the design of the hose having this long metal rod for extension. Also, I haven't figured out how to get the hose back together quickly as it's supposed to nest into the base of the vacuum. This piece might just be user error though.Canister is just like all others, still have to take out the middle insert to get all the dirt out. I often make a mess around the trash as I'm trying to empty it, but the suction picks that right back up.

Garden 0f Stone says:

So does it actually lose suction power or do people not understand they need to clean the filters

allyssa sicam says:

Thank you for this incredible review

Dorothy Mckenzie says:

How can I remove the dust cup??? Not to empty, but to clean the cup itself

Another great video, we'll likely buy this one for cleaning our vehicles/furniture

James Peyton says:

I bought a Shark Rocket pro and love the articulated shaft. It allows cleaning under furniture such as sofas and chairs without having to bend much. At 77, I believe this feature is a God send.

Edson Amaral says:

Love the Shark Rocket ultra light vacuum🌼 I have neck, shoulder, lower back and knee issues, this vacuum is so easy to use I can now vacuum again. We have three dogs and two cats not to mention five people living in a small home. The vacuum is light weight holds more in the canister then I ever thought it would. You can stand in one spot and do a whole radius around you cause the bottom vacuum attachment rotates very easily. Not good at writing reviews but felt I must cause this product was a big game changer!

Nina Godschild Cage says:

A piece of junk. Wouldn’t even work on my carpet. Too expensive and not a good quality vacuum😤

Quy Nguyen says:

Great Reviews of the Shark Vacuums. Thank for putting on professional video and review. Do you know of a good vacuum duster from Shark? Does shark make a variable speed (suction) lightweight vacuum?

I am looking for a vacuum with a wand and flexible hose, and most importantly, a soft brush medium round that picks up fine dust. Purely for dust cleaning on shelves, blinds, shutters, and spots around tables, top of baseboard trims, and cabinets door trims.

So many vacuums are too powerful for just "dusting." If I could get a quiet lightweight vacuum with a traditional duster as an attachment, that would be gold.

Sarah Levesque says:

Have you a plan to review the Shark Vertex Lightweight Cordless? Id love to see that and this model compared!

ananth rao says:

Hey, how has the shark cordless held up after 8 months of use?
