After owning and using the Oreck Pod for several months now, I definitely prefer it over a bagless cordless. However, I have had several issues with the vacuum in the brief time I have used it. The first vacuum simply died after only 2 months of light usage. I returned it to my Oreck dealer and the unit was replaced with a brand new one. Then the clips that secure the various attachments to the handle broke off . Once again , it was returned to my Oreck dealer and the clips were replaced. Then, the display on the replacement unit failed, and went black. Once again, the unit was returned to my Oreck dealer and I received another new vacuum. Despite all of these failures, I still love this cleaner. It feels and performs like a quality vacuum, and doesn't require all the maintenance that some other cordless vacuums demand. Not intended to do the work of a corded vacuum, but great for quick pick ups. They might also consider improving the manner in which the attachments are secured onto the cleaner. They require squeezing 2 tabs in order to release the attachments, and even then, it requires a bit of twisting to detach them. I appreciate your advice when you recommend always purchasing from a reputable dealer. Although all these issues were frustrating, my Oreck dealer happily honored the warranty and replaced the failed units without delay.

Very interesting, could not see what the impeller looks like. Did they say what it's made of and how fast the motor turns?

How much do those pods cost to buy? Looks like it's gonna work out quite expensive in the long run

Would you have this or a cordless tacony if you have to have a cordless, bagged vacuum?

livefootagetube says:

Not a good replacement for a regular vacuum cleaner but it's a good start. Hole is to small, it will get clogged all of the time.

A very interesting oreck. Sound like it has alot of power with it being a dirty air machine. It will be interesting on how much water lift it has.

Performance R, could you recommend a good air purifier for a bedroom? Are the Oreck's decent?
