I just got one last Saturday, and apparently mine is a newer design from what they tell me with the same model number, but you can't manually empty the dust cup with it on the hand vac.

I have the PowerDetect IP3251, i dont see any button on the side that shows a trash can, so I cant figure out how to manually empty dustcup. Only button I've found is the one next to the nozzle and that drops the whole dustcup
