My replacement battery came with what appears to be another filter that sits at the top of the handle, right where it says dyson,
how do I replace that?

Converting to dewalt has some serious upsides. These are just too small.

the sv 10 has the screws on the bottom 2 of them.
My high speed was only lasting about 1 minute!

Very helpful. I appreciate that you included — at the end — that it was wise to charge the battery. When it comes to ANYTHING mechanical (and I consider it mechanical if I have to use a screwdriver), I am one of those people who needs everything spelled out, very explicit — no assumptions.
