How to fix Dyson pulsing and stopping – Battery

This is how to fix a common problem of pulsing and stopping with Dyson stick vacuum cleaners. This will work for all cordless dyson handheld vacuum cleaners.Although dirty filters and obstructions can cause the vacuum cleaner to not operate as it should the biggest issue is usually with the battery no longer holding charge. As a result the battery does not lasts long and will randomly turn off. Replacement of the battery takes minutes and is very cheap and easy to do it yourself DIY for around $30.

Thanks for the video. My Dyson V8 Absolute will turn on and then off after a couple seconds shut off. This is not the pulsing that is discussed in other areas and it doesnt matter if it is in the max mode or basic mode. When i pull the trigger the unit starts and then immediately shuts off. I have cleaned it completely. And i have taken the battery out to review if there is any issues. Still turns on and then off immediately. Now: The funny part is that if i place my hand over the opening that the wand attaches to, and then pull the trigger the unit will run. Take my hand away and it stops again? The battery has a full charge and the unit is very clean. Any thoughts?????????

Thank you so much for your video. I had that exact problem. Watched a couple of video on how to fix and they basically just mentioned the same thing of cleaning the filter etc which was of no help to me as I was still having the same issue. Your video is very clear and thorough. I now know that I need a new battery.

If it still pulsates after all that, check for a blockage in the head, behind the rotating brush roller – not always obviously blocked at first glance so poke something in to check.
