Quite by accident, the body came away from the back handle which was great because an unbelievable amount of crud came out of it. But do you think I can work out how to get it off again? It was just a fluke the first time. It would be great to get a really clear demo of this. The stills with the arrows pointing are good but can't quite see what the scissors are up to. Using a screwdriver to pries away the parts really scared me LOL
I think all this does is show what a bad design this is. You shouldn't need a screwdriver to remove that bit and the reason you do need one is that you're not supposed to remove it, so how do you clean it properly? You have to risk breaking it to do so. Would it not have been a better idea for them to design it so that you pressed a lever to release that bit. Not impressed. Even worse, we bought one about 6 months ago. Wouldn't have if I'd have seen this.
This is Bull shit. How many time can you remove and do this cleaning before you really damage the plastics parts. This is not a cheap vacuum cleaner. Dyson must really improve it design not just do vacuuming but also its maintenance. I've watch the V8 and its the same. I really regret buying the V6.

This design are so stupid omg the old generation was so easy to clean
this was not difficult to do, took a little time, but after 2 years of use, it was really caked with fine dirt. Clean up took only a few minutes. I am hoping that the dirt was the reason for the red light flashing, if not, well, it is at least clean and needs a new battery. The Dyson site wants you to call them for the red light flashing, but does not have a video like this to walk you through cleaning the motor head area. Thanks!

I've watched like 6 of these videos now, and none of them show how to remove the filter housing at the back-end of the fan and gun. There's a single screw which I've removed but it still seems snapped in there somehow and I'm afraid to force it.
I've always had a dyson cordless I now know how to get the rest of the parts it's just a pity that you have to remove first part with a screwdriver.
