DO NOT BUY THIS VAC! I paid full price on Amazon, and despite me 'babying' (taking great care of) this vac, it shuts off intermittently during use! Even with a full battery pack! There have been other complaints about this exact issue on the internet. This is a MAJOR DESIGN FLAW and Hoover needs to own up to this, and issue either FULL REFUNDS, or send the affected customers a brand new, updated version of their cordless vac, that hopefully has the problem resolved!
I came across this video looking for something else and was interested in watching it. But what a pointless video, unless it trying to provide Hoover is reaching for something. Hoover is comparing apples to oranges. I don't know why everyone tries to compare the Dyson to a full size machine (or close to full size). The Dyson isnt meant to clean your whole house, its a spot cleaner. I know most of you remember the Black & Decker Dust Buster cordless vacs, did you go around vacuuming your whole house with that? No you used it to pick up little messes. That is what the Dyson is for picking up little messes, sport cleaning, not vacuum your whole house like all these manufactures are trying to say its for. If the Dyson was truly such a horrible machine, why didn't Hoover compare it to a like item? The only reason Hoover would compare the Dyson to this model is because know the Dyson is better and they are 'stacking' the deck. Nice try Hoover………
HI
I have red in cent.com that air flow on these machines are as low as 23 cfm. which is even lower than hoover linx which is about 36. if that is the case i would like to return my air cordless and go with linx. can you comment on that Ian. have you ever measured the air flow on this vacuum.
use the fluffy head and the dyson v6 shits on this
I have 2 dysons and my buddy has this hoover . and my dysons mangle this vaccum everytime .
he is actually returning it and look at dysons now .
my opinion .
obviously the hoover company is going to be one sided . this isn't a review you should look at
Try hoovering the stairs with the Hoover compared to the Dyson then youll know why we bought the Dyson
So you've compared a bigger, heavier, uglier Hoover against a smaller lightweight Dyson and surprise surprise you point out that it holds more dust and lasts longer!? Also, try the Fluffy head on the Dyson for the big debris!!! The Hoover batteries look like something from a Makita drill! Everyone wants a Dyson, you know it. They are the best. Worst review ever.
Best vacuum I have bought in years. I have 5 dogs and everyday i vacuum. Runs like a charm. I hope hoover keeps this vacuum the way it is and not mess it up with new ideas.
It's not just because the guy in the video looks like a serial killer that I prefer the Dyson.
Its just that the suction power, the weight, the looks, the maneuverability & the convenience of the Dyson DC44 is just better.
the con….
the air cordless picked up the larger debris as there was as gap between the carpet and brush head for the large debris to pass under! how ever due to this the suction at the cleaner head will most likely escape through this gap causing a lot of grit and embedded dirt to be left at the bottom of the carpet pile where the naked eye cant see! how ever the dyson does not have a gap between the carpet and brush head so creates a seal to the carpet and the suction combined with the brush can pull the dirt from the very bottom of the carpet pile! both work very well at removing visible surface dust but the dyson is designed to seal the suction to the carpet as to achieve deep cleaning that cleans right to the bottom of the pile and not just on the surface.
Having tried Dyson DC59, I must admit that one simply KICKS ASS of dirt in carpet… But, major drawback is, it doesn't allow option to use the cord when battery runs out… or have a replacement battery in such cases… I had to return the Dyson DC59 Motorhead, but, it did raise the bar on what I now expect from vacuum cleaners in terms of their ability to clean…
Handy, yes. easy to just grab and go, yes. But I have found this cordless vac to be short lived and slow. Doesnt suction nearly as well as a plug in model and is, I feel, more suitable for an RV or quick pick ups. I dont suggest this upright as your stand alone unit. Just very weak,
I think people need to remember who made this video and then think if it is a little biased or not
the air cordless on cnet was bad
I like Dyson more better
what happened to old hoover? each cleaner was made beautifully by hand in Canton, Ohio. there are great cleaners such as the dial-a-matic and convertible that were discontinued to make this cheap plastic garbage. i could just see the steering joint snapping in a second. this doesn't agitate the carpet either. this cleaner doesn't "beat as it sweeps as it cleans." it just barely agitates the carpet fibers, unlike its ancestors, which beat all the dust up out of the carpet. what a shame hoover. you have let me down. 🙁
hoover +1
Hoover are cheaters because the dc44 was in the wrong mode I w demand a retry plus the Dyson dc44 is a hand held vacuum the air that is rubbish is a upright and the dc44 has duel cyclone technology beat that Hoover.
My regards Ross Gibb
P.s I'm a Dyson fan ?
Good, useful video. I like Dyson stuff but always thought they were overpriced for what they offered.
Is this suitable to use as a car vacuum? ie does it have tools / attachments to get into the nooks and crannies and tight spaces?
You can't honestly compare a stick vacuum and a full-sized vacuum and say one's better than the other. While I agree that Dyson's cordless vacuums are WAY over-priced, it doesn't change the fact that the DC44 was meant to compliment your upright for lighter tasks while the Hoover is its own upright. Besides, Dyson cordless models already have two newer generations with more power available: The DC59 Motorhead and now the V6.
Can you guys compare it to the Dyson DC59 Motörhead cause the 44 is a bit dated
OK, i've had the Hoover Air Cordless for a few months now, and I really like it! It is a HUGE step forward in cordless vac technology! Suction is good, and battery life is excellent too. I would hope that, as technology moves forward, the next Hoover Air Cordless II has even better suction, a better brush that digs in a bit more, and even higher capacity/larger battery. To those reading my words asking if this vac is worth it? YES! Cordless convenience is fantastic, and the vac does a good job overall!
What's the weight difference and how does it compare to the DD59?
Haaaa. Worse comparison ever! Why not review a car against a motorbike??
I'll take the Hoover.
The dyson is a handheld vacuum and not meant to replace an upright vacuum. Its for a quick clean up job
can some one help me – isnt this THE SAME as the VAX AIR cordless??? it looks the same? i am very confused which to get, Bev
In Australia the Vax is more expensive than the dyson and only has 3 year warranty I believe it has a 6 year warranty in the UK?
