Hikeren Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner Review

Originally recorded October 9, 2019.

Remember the “Dustbuster” vacuum you had back in the 80s, with its cream-and-brown color scheme? And a battery that would go dead in just a minute or two? Well, this is today’s incarnation!

Better color scheme, sleeker design, and better battery technology, this claims it should run for 30 minutes on a charge. It uses a dirt cup and stainless steel filter, instead of that bag thing that used to be in the Dustbuster. Also includes a short hose, crevice tool, and brush attachment.

For whatever reason, this makes the coolest startup sound, and that’s reason enough to consider it in my book!

I find the startup sound of this vacuum very interesting, as I have a Black and Decker 20 volt model that makes the exact same sound when it starts. Makes me wonder if one company makes all of these vacs, and then different names are just slapped on them. My 20v is pretty interesting too, as it uses the same battery as all of their 20 volt tools, so if it dies, or the battery wears out, I just grab another. It's pretty handy for cleaning up small messes in my garage when I don't want to drag out the gigantic shop vac and all of the stuff that goes with it. I also have a real Black and Decker DustBuster from the 2000's, that still works great. Video on that coming soon.
