This is the best, thorough review for the V8 that I’ve found. Much appreciated!! I just purchased a Shark stratos cordless for 350 without tax. Best Buy brought out a used vacuum curbside….taking it back Monday for a refund. Just purchased a Dyson V8 animal Extra with tons of attachments and it was $324 with tax on sale from QVC. I’m excited to receive it!! People have a lot of negative reviews but I think they also run it on MAX mode and don’t know what they’re doing or what to expect. 😂
6:45 my theory on that is maybe they purposely use low quality screws so that if you yourself try to change the battery, you will easily strip the screws – forcing you to buy a new vacuum all together as a business ploy or making you send your vac to them to fix it which if out of warranty will cost you money
I have one. It’s good for quick pick ups or daily use on top of plug in vacuum. I’d never relay on it as a main vacuum due to the battery issues I’ve encountered (5 batteries in 5 years). Build quality is ok, but I’ve felt much better from Samsung, Bosch machines that feel sturdier and are smoother on hard floors (non fluffy head, motorized head attached). I used V8 for 5 years and then started using a plug in DC40 and the DC40 has by far much better performance!!! Plus our DC40 models in the UK are 700 watts. Still much better pick up than the V8. Those ‘bleed holes’ in the tops are really just there to continue having airflow through the cyclones, even when the tool is against the surface. I remember when Dyson invented a good lie regarding the tools having those and said it was to agitate the carpet fibers when the user is cleaning when it’s only for the cyclones benefit lol. The sound of the V8 is my most favorite sounding one.
I’ve had a v7 animal since 2019. It’s pretty good overall, but the new anti tangle features make me want to upgrade. Both the main head and the mini one get tangled pretty quickly. I also don’t like the pre filter on the v7/v8. The dust gets trapped inside the filter instead of outside. I have to separate the inner plastic piece from the actual filter to give it a good rinse. I also had to replace the battery after a little over a year. Probably because I sometimes use max mode when it’s not really necessary.
Great review I have the V8 animal + from Costco and Dyson claims that it has 45 minutes of running time on normal mode with out the use of motorized tools.

I have the Dyson v15 extra which is the same vaccum as this the v15 has the bigger motor it’s a good vaccum

Noticed the filter seems different from the older version of V8
V8 Absolute. Just bought 1 today at USD545 in Malaysia with 1 time payment e.g. no interest added in. Seem to be great difference in price.

ive wanted one of the new dyson cordless vacuums for such a long time but for now imma keep kicking it with my 7 year old dyson v6 moterhead plus lol
