This Dyson V7 is currently my vacuum of the month which means it is the only vacuum cleaner I am using to clean my home. In this video you’ll see what comes in the box, a brief explanation of all the features and a quick carpet cleaning demonstration.
With 75% more brush bar power than the V6, the Dyson V7 Motorhead Cordless Vacuum Cleaner uses a smart direct-drive motor head to deliver powerful suction and clean deep into carpet, removing ground-in dirt and pet hair.
30 minutes of powerful suction
Using fade-free Lithium-ion batteries, the V7 Motorhead is able to deliver up to 30 minutes of uncompromised suction throughout the entire clean. Additionally, the trigger releases instantly so battery power isn’t wasted between cleaning tasks.
Max power mode
An easy to use push button provides 6 minutes of higher suction for more difficult tasks, such as pet hairs on carpets, between floor boards and on upholstery.
50% quieter
The V7 has been acoustically engineered to reduce volume and improve sound quality while providing the same powerful suction, for a more enjoyable, relaxed experience. Plus, with the Quiet Mark stamp of approval, this appliance will work discretely without disrupting the tranquillity of your home.
Hygienic
Thanks to Dyson’s hygienic dirt ejector, you can remove trapped dust and debris in single action, without any need to touch the captured dirt.
Handheld cleaning
As with all Dyson cordless vacuums, this model quickly and easily converts to a handheld for quick clean ups and spot cleaning on your sofa, mattress or even on your pet’s bed. Weighing just 2.2kg, the V7 Motorhead has been ergonomically designed with an easy grip and lightweight feel to make vacuuming easy, whether along the floor or up high.

Only 30 minutes with NO cleanerhead attached. With cleaner head on it goes down to around 20 minutes. Max mode is 6 minutes regardless of what tool is on. The batteries wear out after a year or so if you use Max a lot. Regular is not deep cleaning. Dyson will not tell you that. So you will get 3 minutes on Max only. Obviously the low setting will not have strong suction and the battery life will get less and less. Also you are bettrer off with a Dyson with a Hepa filter on, if has to be a cordless machine. Would rather the SEBO E3 Premium you demonstrated instead. It will do a far better and deeper cleaning job and no inconvenience of a battery wearing out or having to wait it to charge. No replacement for a lovely plug in machine and preferably not a Dyson mains model.
You said the only difference between the models is the tools. Isn't the extra brush bar power unique to the motorhead?
Very nice video
I've got the V8 and use it all the time. Despite having several premium vacuums to choose from, the V8 gets the most use. It's super easy to maneuver and does a remarkably good job on my 3 dog household. And speaking of dogs, the cleaner has rarely smelled 'doggy' – maybe once or twice in a couple of years use. And when it did, a good clean out fixed the issue. I've got 1700SF of house to clean and it has never run out of charge. I've never owned other Dyson machines – always thought they looked and felt cheap – but this one gets my 2 thumbs up.
next time you do an unboxing can you get it out the box on camra
If you still have the vax slim vac, prehapse a duel between the two is in order? Great video as always ofcourse!
I love the idea of cordless but the short run time is what keeps me from buying one. With a 3000 square feet house this little vac just won't cut it. Great video Roger
Not even jesus had a self cleaning shroud. Still overpriced for such a short run time.
It is Li-Ion battery?
If it is you don't need a full charge…on the contrary, full charges are slowly more damaging than burst and incomplete charges… (Even the first one…there's no more memory on the batteries..)
No matter what the folks are saying about this…EVEN IF THE PAPERS on the product says this.
Btw, they aren't giving full warranty on the batteries, no? 🙂
One of the best cordless in the world
Hi, great review Rodger, are you going to do an updated review of the Remington Vic vac?
I love your rug, but sorry I detest any cordless hoovers. I had a cordless once & it was Shite, as it had nae runtime really.
Looks a good cleaner. How much did this cost you?
First comment Roger and nice video was waiting for a v7 wonder if Dyson aren't telling porky pies and it has the power of an upright
