Defective device. Unacceptable Dyson customer service I purchased this as a Christmas gift for our family. We had it for a couple weeks before opening the box on Christmas, then put it together soon after. We used it in very light duty (vacuuming underneath kitchen table) 2-3 times across about a weeklong period. The next time we tried using it, the motor began to pulse.
