I don't think that information on the LCD screen is intended to tell you how clean your carpet is getting, but simply a count of the dust it's picked up. Personally, I think it's just a lot of foolishness. I don't need to know how many millions of dust particles it picks up. The meter that you mentioned on the Shark that tells you that it's not picking up much dirt (i.e., your carpet is clean-ish) sounds like a much more useful feature. All in all, I do love the vac.

The nice thing about the V12 is that it is lighter. I have the Gen 5 Detect as well. Both nice vacuums.
You don't need the lights on with the laser floor cleaner.
I got the V12 on "Final Clearance" at Canadian Tire. I think they discontinued the V12. Too bad.
Luv mine. The lightweight helps because I have tendinitis. The green light is a game changer.
I just purchased a v12 and have great difficulties getting the wand off of the canister to empty. Wondering if i should exchange it for same model or different brand. Yes the canister is small on this vacuum

Hello Dad ❤, i am from India, here in sale , we are getting new v8 absolute for 275 dollars, and v12 for 475 dollars. Out of these two which is more worth for money. This is my first dyson purchase. Also will v15 laser fluffy works on v8 since both have same connector. Thank you
