Even not fully knowing what the water lift numbers mean the position of the needle says it all! Dyson never do themselves any favours, the v11 is great, in my house it is as good as a corded vacuum but that's because you don't need huge suction to vacuum hardwood flooring! Pitching it as a full size mains vacuum replacement has not helped them, as we can do these tests to show that it isn't! I'm glad I'm not the only one to make the head stop dead on deeper pile, although my test carpet does lift up as its only an offcut, and as a certain very biased youtube said, that could be my reason and as I can't exactly nail it to my mums floor, I had to concede it could be an reason. And now I don't!

Anne-marie Wildbore says:

I have a four bedroom house with wall to wall carpet that's reasonably deep pile and a Dyson v11 absolute it's the only vacuum I have and its vastly superior to any of the corded vacuums I've owned and I've owned quite a number of them.

dutchman404 says:

In the review of Vacuum Wars of the Dyson V11 he measures 111 inches of water lift, why are you only getting 60?

Dee Dee says:

Very recently someone did a test with V8 vs V11 suction and they found out that V8 has a more powerful suction than V11. Dyson is lying.

Niwrad says:

dont forget to change the slider on the dyson head from + to – if it clamps to the carpet, it's hard to tell but it sort of looked like it could have been in the + position

Darryl Guise says:

Suction as measured is not a good measure of how well the vac will clean. I have a Miele which would probably blow (suck) your gauge off the dial, but is impossible to use at that suction as the head is locked to the carpet. I have to turn it down to the furniture setting (setting 2 of 6) to be able to move the head. Any higher setting and I would need a days rest after each room. I was tempted to return the Miele after the first couple of uses and should have as I am now going to give it away as I have replaced it with a V11 which does a fully carpeted 3 bedroom home without having to recharge the battery.

Chris Easley says:

2:30, are you stupid? The more the bag is filled, it loses suction

krankenheim13 says:

I like the v11 because I hate dealing with getting out the vacuum and managing the cord. I don’t like maintaining a vacuum. I don’t have time to be doing all that. And vacuuming with a cordless is better than not vacuuming at all. So wouldn’t you at least agree that, as far as cordless vacuums are concerned, the v11 is the best? Be smarter than the advertisers. You’re comparing apples to oranges.

Does duct tape change results?

riley woods says:

im looking to buy a new vacuum. i have hardwood, tile and carpet. and i have my eye on the sebo felix. is there a vacuum more suitable for cleaning all 3 surfaces?

Mr dark man says:

My man, it not only about suction. Its about how well the suction is properly used and how well the cleaner head is designed to efficiently and effectively use the said suction to clean the floor, surface, etc. You can have the best soap (suction), but how good is the mop (cleaner head)

Crag LaBrake says:

There is always still room for improvement especially in cordless vacuum cleaners. Dyson in my opinion should have further tested and do research on battery operated machines. Sadly it comes down to marketing along with money.

Vacuumtests says:

Everyone who disliked this video probably just realized that they have had bought 600$ dustbuster (V11) 😀

Christian says:

These things are junk most stick vacuums are the only thing they're good for is quick pickups but all this can also be applied to robotic vacuums as well nither have the suction or airflow to be effective cleaners especially by themselves

vacuum nut says:

Let's face it. In their zest for marketing, Dyson lies. Their products are over priced and usually under perform.
