Lifespan of " 2 to 4 years" was pretty much all i needed to hear to decide – NOT TO BUY THIS.

Tony Gammalo says:

You mention “other products“ and “the competition“. Can I get a specific list of cordless vacuum cleaners in this class better than this Dyson? Thanks

Oliver Newell says:

Few points I’d like to quiz you on (btw, I’m a Sebo and Dyson owner) –
1)the bulkiness issue under appliances; you’ll find most consumers will always use some sort of attachment like an under appliance wand or dusting brush on any vacuum. It was a Sebo engineer which said this; “why would you wear out and damage the hose vs a cheaper plastic tool you can replace?”
You seem to be sensationalising the build quality issues. Dyson testing is well documented on their channels, and you don’t become the largest vacuum manufacturer in the world by producing poor quality products, in any industry. Where did you get the 2/4 years life span from btw? As a vacuum engineer, you’re only going to see products that have failed, and me and you both know that most of it is customer negligence, failing to carry out basic maintenance.
There are people with V7 and DC59 models which are approaching 8/9 years old that are still in service.
2) you really looked like you were clutching at straws regarding the pickup test. Most YouTube channels, including IBASIAC and Vacuum Wars (who carries out actual scientific tests) for the dyson performing better on deep cleaning vs most corded uprights let alone cordless models. CRM and suction is rather irrelevant. Floor head design is what counts.
3) the O ring issue in the floor head was a known issue which has since been rectified by Dyson. It was a teething issue with their new head design. It was never an inherent problem.
4) dyson have been fantastic over the years for customer service but also spare parts. Try finding spare parts for LG or Shark products. (Btw; LG actually produced the batteries for all dyson cordless machines up until 1 year ago, dyson now produce their own as their own battery chemistry has outstripped LG’s, hence why dyson claim 15 years battery life vs 3/4 years from their V10 and older models)
4) why is the fact they are made in Malaysia a bad thing? Your smartphone by Apple of Samsung will be made in either China or Vietnam. Outsourcing is nothing new, even in high end products. Why do you think Miele have stripped their “made in Germany” tag off their products? Because some of their robotic vacuums and cylinders are made in China. Bosch manufacturer most of their products outside of Germany now.
Finally, it is okay to like dyson. It’s still a privately owned British company, younger than Numatic. LG isn’t an indie brand taking on the big boys. They make tanks for the South Korean army and own entire cities, same for Samsung, and Ninja are a huge company as well. You’ll find Dyson are one of the youngest vacuum brands out there.
Are they overpriced however? Probably yes, but mostly justified. Will a V11 Suit every household? No, but a sizeable chunk of the market for sure.

Bruce Solomon says:

For the price of a Miele U1, Sebo Felix or G1 only a fool would spend $700 on this toy. A stick vacuum shouldn’t cost more than $200 of a consumer’s budget. Fools and their money are soon parted.

andarkge says:

I have a V10, and I've definitely noticed the soft brush roller works way better than the carpet brush on hardwood floor. I dont know if there's equivalent on V11, but I'd definitely recommend using soft brush on hardwood floor.

bionicangel123 says:

I don’t see how it could stand on its own it’s so top heavy

Mark Smith says:

I found a simplicity s10 for 449. Good deal? I think he said dv or cv after the s10. It is new.

alantgv says:

This machine should be used on auto setting for carpets as designed.

Erik Gustafson says:

Mateo's salsa in the background. Nice.

Andrew Wiers says:

Can you please do a at home review on the Miele triflex?
