Dyson V10 vs Gtech Pro – glitter and lentil challenge

We pitted the Dyson V10 against the Gtech Pro to see which vacuum cleaner was more effective at vacuuming a mixture of lentils, glitter and flour from carpet and laminate.

The verdict? The Dyson V10 was quicker and more thorough than the Gtech Pro and left less residue behind. The Gtech performed better on the laminate floor than it did on the carpet.

We hope you enjoy this video. Remember it is in no way related to our official Which? tests – these are conducted in lab conditions and include more than 70 assessments to see how effectively vacuum cleaners clean your home and how easy they are to use.

dysonobsessed says:

how rigged this ‘test’ or ‘challenge’ was unreal, now i’m not being bias to the g-tech by saying this but, the end cap for the brush roll was coming out and spinning freely for the test. so the brush obviously wasn’t spinning for this. why don’t you guys just make simple review videos like you used to?

Joshua Trepte says:

why compare a £200 Vacuum to a £450 one?

Ron Caramel says:

Do a bit of research before you make fools of yourselves. The Gtech is designed to pick up different size particles on the BACK stroke from the forward puch. Hence it requires a backward and forward motion to work correctly.

Catherine Rooney says:

What a useless comparison.

dremid445 says:

Oh come on, to all of these people nitpicking over methodology in the comments, give me a break. Obviously the GTech vacuum is a piece of junk, especially on the hard floor.

Chris Jackson says:

Typical Which! inconsistency

PHILLIP HURLEY says:

The Dyson will only run for six minutes before the battery dies when using it on full power and with the powered carpet head attached.

Avi Barman says:

After doing 70 different tests, is this the best one to show to your viewers?

Yasmin Malik says:

Poor video…..very bad. Like a couple of girls fooling around.

Ross M says:

Thanks for this video, absolutely useless.

Jimmy Rehman says:

You cant beat a good old brush and spade

Parkash Sidhu says:

Er, price? Quality of build?
There was clearly less flour for the dyson cleaner.
What an utter load of tosh. Which need to do better than get a couple of airheads making it into a Top Gear-esque personal battle.
Pathetic

Lottie Bronte says:

Dumbed-down dumb testing. The problem is, people will believe this hype! It says more about Which than the vacuums and I’m left wondering if I can trust a Which review at all. So many inconsistencies in testing, which starts with the quantity of stuff put down. Everything was left to chance.

Ozzy Ozzy says:

Got to be the worst review Iv ever seen. A complete waste of time as this doesn’t show how a normal person would vacuum 👎👎

robbieshaft says:

"the show where we pit two high profile products against each other" (as the camera views go up the two womens bodies)

Vacuum_Master369 says:

this is the worst vacuum test video ever

TheSneekythief says:

Stupid!!! Bad bad bad testing!! You will learn nothing by watching this video bar how not to vacuum!!!

Dinah Barrett says:

This was inconsistent with no scientific basis in determining which vacuum cleaner is the best. The video created as a bit of fun, however Which has a reputation of providing data which is fact based. Unfortunately this did not meet expectations. It was rather silly and pointless.
