This week I tested the new Dyson Omni-glide cordless vacuum. It’s a new thing in many ways, but it solves a vacuuming efficiency problem that I have been looking at for a long time. Basically… I liked it a lot.

I forgot to mention in the video that the filtration was as good as other premium Dyson cordless vacuums. It’s a whole machine HEPA system, 99.99% of particles filtered down to 0.3 microns.

I also forgot to mention the noise level. Here it wasn’t anything special – not too much different than other Dysons. It’s about average, at 74 db on standard power and 84 on max.

Maria Turner says:

Wow this is the modern day swifer. Now we just need a better battery to at least have it last for 30 minutes or more. For me preferably a full hour.

GoodBadUgly says:

Great video, just ordered it via your link. Keep up the great reviews.

Steven DiMeglio says:

Do you need to keep the piece under the vacuum on? It is the one that touches the floor in between the rollers

Je Gr says:

It works well on the area rugs I have. I was not expecting any results vacuuming carpet. Based on this and other reviews you would think it doesn't work at all on them. In reality, you just can't push down too hard otherwise the rollers stop, but they never did in the way reviews like this suggest.

Dylan Piekarski says:

It's very similar, but now there is a new micro that was just released as well!

Colton and his Vacs says:

I like the Omni glide but i just don’t have the money right now I would love to have one tho

tiredrummertube says:

Designed for restaurants; nice around customers.

Midlife Mom says:

Dyson Omni Glide or Dyson V-15 or Tineco A10 for large area of wood floors? I need to pick up dust/pet hair and vacuum small crumbs.

muhammed munir says:

Can be used with v11?

moja105 says:

so is not good for carpet ?

ad44 says:

Why not have a handle or something at the top instead of just a…cylinder…metal rod thing? Looks like it would get uncomfortable fast

Dan Cook says:

Should come with 2 batteries these greedy companies but Dyson’s are junk for long term made cheep don’t last.

Terry Lim says:

Thanks for this! Great job and very well made.

Terry Lim says:

Do you know if the Omni-Glide can work on low / flat rugs?

We have a rug in the living room and bedroom that’s very flat / tightly woven and would love to be able to run the Omni-Glide on our hard wood floors and rugs, too.

Lastly, when you say regular cleaning do you mean after each use? Or a bit less frequent? Sucks (haha) that the axles get tangled up easily. That would be our biggest issue cause we have lots of long woman hair all over.

Kevin Lan says:

Yeah, the Dyson omni-glide is a perfect "electric power broom" in the house for now.

Chuck's poke says:

I haven't owned a cordless vacuum that was worth a damn because of battery. The day you start to use it…..recharging the battery lose power (suction)and endurance only decreases. Buy all back up batteries you want and additional rechargers not worth the hassle. Cordless dead on arrival not even worth considering. I dont know why manufacturers bother selling device with such limited abilities of use. Can you image cellphone that only work 4 hours on full charge or less.(Less hour really more noise than suction….ridiculous), Put power cord on it or make it dual use (electrical or cordless with over charging safety) otherwise dust mop still better tool.

Kyle Keenan says:

A vaccum that doesn't work on carpets, and is difficult to clean stairs with, even as a hand held. Well done Dyson.
