Hi there – like all Dyson cordless and handheld vacuums, DC59 comes with a 2-year warranty, and we would expect the battery to last at least that long under normal domestic use. If a Dyson owner happened to have an issue with the battery outside the warranty period, we would encourage them to contact us directly to discuss their options with our experts.
well damn, i am looking at what happens if in the future when the product is out of warranty and no longer in production, and the battery fails, wouldn't it become unusable then?
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. DC59, the new Dyson Digital Slim™, has a maximum runtime of 20 minutes, 17 minutes with the Motorised carbon fibre floor tool attached, or 6 minutes on Boost mode for really stubborn dirt. It recharges from flat in 3.5hrs, and can be recharged whilst stored in the docking station after use – so it's ready to go when you need it. As a cordless vacuum, it's not designed to run with the charger cord attached.
quick question, can i run the vacuum with a cord attached, cause from what i heard is that the battery last about 10 mins, which isn't enough for me

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. DC59 is the first Dyson vacuum to use our new digital motor V6. It's compact and lightweight thanks to a powerful, lightweight neodymium magnet. A microprocessor monitors the position of the magnet within the motor as it rotates, evaluating the optimum time to fire pulses to the coils. This means the motor stays at peak efficiency. And the impeller runs at up to 110,000 rpm to produce a high power to weight ratio.

I have the same one as you I also purchased a additional part for the end of the vacuum (dont know the name) and it is extremely powerful and takes up hair in milliseconds and the great thing about it is you can see it working from the top1
