Great Vacuum but buy it from lows its cheaper I picked up this vacuum to use around the house I hate plugging up things and dealing with wires so anytime I can cut the wire I am all for it. So far I love it. The connivence of using the 18 volt batteries (which I have about 6-8 of them) and the newer 20 volt lithium ion (I only have 2 of them) batteries makes it a great companion to my garage. I haven’t tested it in any wet situations so I can’t say how durable it is or how well it works for water but as a dry shop vac I think it is…
– the cord is history I picked up this unit at lowes when it first came out. I was going to wait for the one with the cord (DCV581H) but the lure of cord-free vacuuming was impossible to resist. I had never used a dewalt cordless vac before and did not know what to expect. It was just as good as my little HD brand shop vac but I no longer had to tote the extension cord and search for outlets. Pretty weak, annoying exhaust, eats batteries, but hey, it’s portable This is a handy tool. Cordless definitely has it’s advantages, especially out in the driveway in the car.This is definitely NOT as powerful as even a small plug-in shop vac.
