Unlike previous filters ordered, these have some kind of coating on them which makes it harder to tap off dust, cat fur, litter beads, etc., after vacuuming, hence my rating of 3 stars. I have to clean the filter by hand after each use. I have been using the vacuum for several years, and have not tried washing filters.
