I had an older smaller Dyson and it did very well. Just bought a Tineco and it has superior capabilities compared to the older smaller Dyson. The maneuverability of the head on the Dyson is vastly superior. Otherwise, the Tineco is quieter, and faster, with a filter cleaner, a powered 6-inch couch head, and a separate full-size head for wood floor and tile floors. Not covered in your review is that my Tineco Model (at least at Costco) has an extra wood floor head, which is smooth and with an ½ inch open front that allows it to pick up Cheerios, larger trash, etc. It works as well as the Dyson. You do have to switch heads, but that is easy. It cost $200 to the Dyson's $500. I have not used it much so have not experienced the filter clog issue described below, but they did include a free pre-filter, which should help. Overall, you can't beat a Dyson only because of how well the head maneuvers. But not $2-300 worth! And Tineco is well-made and uses good materials close to like Dyson.
You're on the path to success
Already bought my vacuum thanks to you guys but I still watch your videos, love your channel. Keep it up, nerds
I don't have a Tineco but all these years of watching videos of this brand, you need to be aware of its filtration technology. While this filtration technique is commendable for less noise, it clogs easily and the main cause of poor suction and weak battery life in reviews despite being as powerful and battery as the Dyson. The Dyson is exactly at the opposite end of this with little need to maintain filter, the post motor filter, which I think needs to be washed every quarter or every six months. The Dyson though has a loud and annoying brushless motor whine which they finally fixed through the Gen5detect.
I have used both brands, and various models of each in a business setting and I have given up on Tineco in favor of Dyson for a few reasons. The main reason is the filters. The Tineco requires constant maintenance of the canister motor. It gets clogged very fast and it has a significant impact on performance even when mildly soiled. The "filter cleaner" seems like a cool feature, until it becomes apparent that it's necessary to use it every few uses of the machine. Unfortunately, a lot of particulate from both the air and the motor ends up at the exhaust filter, and it gets soiled very quickly. This is added cost, annoyance, and is a time suck.
0:51 Ferocious kitty! (And, going to buy this Tineco, which I had never heard of before, looks great for less moola!)
