The Pivot Vac by Black and Decker is a handheld, battery powered vacuum. It has great suction which led to it’s terrific performance cleaning small, medium and large particles from our carpet. You can see how strong the suction is by the way it pulls the carpet fibers up as it cleans. Here you can see the strong airflow in the dirt cup.

In addition to working well on carpets, we found that the machine did a great job on our hard surface flooring as well. Look how flawlessly it sucked up the mess from our floor. When we tested this machine on pet-hair, we found it did a great job sucking up the larger strands, but left the finest strands behind.

The Pivot Vac gets it’s name from the way the nozzle rotates around the handle. You can access the dirt from the side of the machine for easy emptying. The entire dirt cup can be removed for easy cleaning and to access the filter.

The Pivot Vac comes with two onboard attachments; a crevice tool and a dust brush. Averaging seventy-five decibels, this vacuum was a comfortable volume to use.

One area of this machine that disappointed us was the filtration system. You can see how the particle count actually jumps as the machine is turned on and remains higher than the count of particles in the air naturally. This machine did a great job of cleaning our vehicle. The strong suction worked well to clean our floor mats. The dust brush worked well to clean our dashboard and dust other hard surfaces. The crevice tool and narrow nozzle really allowed us to get deep between our car seats.

Because the machine is cordless, it was easy to grab and use on our stairs. Overall, we thought this machine did a great job.

I like the review. I wish you would have shown more on the stairs. I also liked the car footage. I just have to figure out how it is charged meaning is it powercord base or batteries. Once I answer that, I might get one of these. Thanks for sharing.

Cool review. And I concur with your rating.  I used a Eureka "The Boss"  corded hand held for years until I dropped it and it broke on me. Bought this B & D and it is MUCH more effective.  (Easy to empty & keep clean too,)
