Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Black and Decker Dustbuster 15.6 Volt cordless hand vac. The unit weighs about 3 pounds so it’s extremely light and easy to handle. When you buy the unit, it will have some charge right out of the box so you can vacuum right away. You will have to charge the unit for 24 hours for a full charge.

Plug the charger into this socket and the indicator light will turn on. You would expect the light to turn green when it is fully charged but it doesn’t. It would have been such an easy feature for Black and Decker to add to the vacuum. This is the on/off switch. Press this button to release the nozzle. Press this button to release the dust bowl. Inside is the plastic pre-filter. To remove it, twist it clockwise. This is the cloth filter which is re-usable. B&D recommends changing this every 6 – 9 months. To assemble it, put the plastic filter over the cloth filter. Twist it into the slots counterclockwise. Put the filters into the bowl and push it into the handle until it clicks. Put the nozzle back in until it clicks.
The nozzle is slim and can get into crevices. A brush and crevice tool are on the nozzle so there is no extra storage to worry about. The crevice tool can be pulled out until it locks. The brush can be flipped up for use. That’s a nice feature because it doesn’t get in the way when you’re vacuuming.
Press this button to rotate the nozzle until it clicks. If you want to mount this unit to a wall, a bracket and screws are included.
I came back from the beach and couldn’t wait to clean up the sand in my car. As you can see the suction is very powerful. Reaching down to clean the mats isn’t hard because the vacuum is light. Car seats are easy to clean and the Black and Decker gets into the crevices to pick up crumbs.
It also did a good job of getting dust off the trim on walls.
The vacuum works well on hardwood floors and tile floors. It picked up oats and flour even from the cracks in the floor.
The vacuum is loud but it’s not high pitched and I’m happy that it doesn’t hurt my very sensitive ears. After use, remove the bowl and empty it. The filters and bowl can be washed with mild soap and water. Make sure they are completely dry before assembling the vacuum.
The Black and Decker Dustbuster is a good value at around $50.

Excellent video! Wish all demonstration videos were as short and to the point as this one. So many folks doing demos talk, and talk, and talk. This is great.
Wow I have had this dustbuster for a few years and only after seeing you video did I know about the extension –lol I had looked this up since I had a mental block on how to get the filters out which you help to refresh my mind!! Got an added bonus learning about the extension–thanks so much!
This appliance does not hold a charge at all. Even when fully charged it gives out after a few seconds. Am really disappointed.
Wow, you really know how to do a review. I'm inclined to accept your opinion on any product.
I just bought this vac I connect it to charge it and the red light doesn't come up the first time… It's that normal? Or I have to send it back cause I bought it online
Thanks a lot your BestKitchenreview is very detail and so helpful at the most once again free and diss to
Jeanine's list.
After 1 year and 2 months of light, occasional use the battery will not hold a charge, then it is useless.
Hello. Thank you for sharing this test. Very informative. However you have not mentioned anything about the flip out brush. Was it intentional ? Can it be used with the extension ? Thanks
Hi Julio, after a full charge, the vacuum ran for about 15 minutes. Glad you enjoyed the review :-)
Great review. My question is… How long does the battery last? Thanks a lot.
