I now have mostly hard floors (wood/tile) and needed a better way to keep them clean. I like to walk around bare foot, and can not stand the feeling of a dirty floor under my feet. This is a superb tool for steam mopping in pet households. Even after vacuuming, there are always hairballs wafting about that gunk up the bottom pad of steam mops I’ve previously used and/or get dragged around after being wetted.
