We’ve had ours for a year and a half and it’s definitely losing suction. Yes, I do keep it clean. Have to use it on turbo just to get average suck.
IS TYSON WORTH THE MONEY? not really, the first thing that go bad with is the reduction of vacume suction because of the motor clugudge ,to fix that problem is very easy and coast nothing but 2 minutes , hereit ist, remove the brush hub or cap at the one end of the brush ,remove the brush gat a duct tape the best gorila from home depot cut about 3" and stick it across the the intake port reducing the flow of vacuum , this crates stronger suction this will not interfere with debris you are only sucking up dust no garbage, then put all back you are done , you will see the big differenceSALMUS 9/24
Would you tell me the V15 detect total clean come with 2 batteries?
Is v15 heavy ? In a sense when doing stairs or couch . As thinking of getting v12 or v15 . As I like button not always pressing trigger . But I like bigger bin .but I love all the attachment of v15
The v15 absolute is perfect except for the trigger. Holding it is fine but the trigger guard is painful and digs into your knuckle. Otherwise i prefer it to the Gen5, has all the same features, lighter weight, and less expensive
Thank you very much.
When will the company make the filters for these available?!?! Buying from pirates selling them for $70 apiece is getting old.
I have the smaller dyson and I am trying to decide on a larger model as we have a 3 story house and 2 dogs:) So will look for some more comparision videos on your channel! so helpful! thank you!
Thank you Melissa for a fantastic review of the Dyson’s. I would love to hear how these newer Dyson’s hold up against the classic vacuum sour smell after time? Thank you in advance. Steve 0:21
You can buy a lock for the trigger.
This is some quality content right here! Great job, and thank you for taking the time to share your long term experiences!
It's really great that Dyson switched to a swappable battery – that was the one thing that really killed their earlier models. If they died, you'd have to replace them or take them apart to replace the battery or take it in to a service center. It's nice being able to just buy a new battery and throw it in (and be able to have spares in case you need longer use).
so it cant vacuum up popcorn?? im wanting one of these BUT my family eats popcorn 2-3 times a week and i have a 2 year old so is this not going to be a good choice now??
Does this vacuum work for dog hair like golden retriever and husky? The hair of my dogs get stuck in the current vacuum I have and on the roomba.
Hi can you advise for a HEPA filter vacuum for a small flat with mixed flooring please!?
Help! I have multiple cats and have lots of cat fur and cat litter issues. Which is better for my needs gen5 or v15? Thank you
Commenting before I watch the video. My 20-year-old Dirt Devil, which was too heavy for my apartment and never sucked that great to begin with, is now truly dead; and my first thought was, "I wonder what vacuum Melissa Maker uses?" All of which is to say, I have re-learned how to clean from your videos and I trust your opinions implicitly. Thank you.
Edit: it appears mine did not come with a soft dusting brush or the upholstery crevice tool.
One of THE best reviews I've seen. As I've been perusing Dyson for a new upgraded vacuum (our 9 year old model, Dyson V6 Animal is petering out, losing suction), out of the various models, I had decided on the Dyson V15 Detect (Absolute) before seeing this. But now, after seeing your review, I am completely sold! Awesome job. Very thorough (which I like). Not to mention, you're fun and extremely pleasant to boot (made me laugh multiple times). By the way, I totally get the draw to want to 'play glo-in-the-dark vacuuming', So, you're not a "freak", lol. Again, thanks so much, Melissa, for an outstanding review! 🙂
I've always been a big Dyson fan and just upgraded my v11 to the v15 extra. Like always? Love it. 🎉 Dyson is built to last. If you're thinking of getting a vacuum, get the upgraded models? The lower Dyson vacuum models? Would recommend saving for the v15 or up, skip all the v8 or anything lower than the v15 models. Yes, it's more, but it would be a vacuum that will be working for year's 🎉
“Troubleshat” 😂😂
Also a design defect to me is, it plugs Easy! Up to the body of the canister Unless I have an old fashioned coat hanger… I’m stuck
Just called customer service because all of a sudden it wouldn’t turn on. Battery defective and they sent me a new one. Fortunately under warranty. So we’ll see So far not impressed with batteries that die with a company name called DYSON
